The city is spread across seven hills, which provide stunning panoramic views and form a beautiful backdrop for the white-bleached limestone buildings and grand squares. Lisbon is also known for its culinary scene, featuring delectable seafood and the famous pastel de nata (Portuguese custard tart).
The program
Day 1: Arrival in Lisbon
Upon arrival at Lisbon Airport, transfer to your hotel. Spend the afternoon exploring the neighborhood and getting acclimated. Have a relaxing evening meal in a local Portuguese restaurant.
Day 2: Historical City Tour
Start your day at the Alfama district, the oldest neighborhood in Lisbon. Visit the São Jorge Castle, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the city. Explore the narrow, winding streets and experience the local Fado music. Then, head to Baixa and Rossio Square for some shopping and sightseeing.
Day 3: Belém and the Waterfront
Visit the district of Belém. Start with the Belém Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries, followed by the Jerónimos Monastery. Don’t forget to try the iconic pastel de nata at Pastéis de Belém. After that, enjoy a leisurely walk along the Tagus River waterfront.
Day 4: Day Trip to Sintra
Take a day trip to the town of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the colorful Pena Palace, the mystical Quinta da Regaleira, and the Moorish Castle. Return to Lisbon in the evening.
Day 5: LX Factory and Evening in Bairro Alto
Spend your day at the LX Factory, a creative mini-city and a hub of shops, cafes, and galleries. In the evening, head to Bairro Alto. This neighborhood is known for its nightlife – enjoy a meal in a local restaurant, then check out some of the many bars and Fado houses.
Day 6: Parque das Nações and Vasco da Gama Bridge
Visit Parque das Nações, the modern side of Lisbon. Here you can visit the Oceanário de Lisboa, one of the best aquariums in the world, and take a cable car ride for great views of the area. Also, admire the Vasco da Gama Bridge, the longest in Europe.
Day 7: Day at Leisure and Departure
Spend your last day in Lisbon as per your preference. You could visit any places you missed or go souvenir shopping. Visit a local market to experience the city’s everyday life, or simply relax in one of the city’s beautiful parks or cafes. Later, transfer to the airport for your departure.
